Niko Mchedlishvili, head of PM's press service, has responded to the claims of the head of the Adjara autonomous republic government, Levan Varshalomidze, who demanded granting administrative functions to the regional authorities.
`The PM has instructed the government to look into the problem. This week the government will invite Levan Varshalomidze and discuss the abovementioned issue', Mchedlishvili said, adding all issues would be solved this week.
Levan Varshalomidze called for granting administrative authority to Adjara government. He complained that local authorities had to apply to the central government for each insignificant issue for confirmation and wait for their response for a few days.
He said he had been sending letters to Prime Minister Nika Gilauri in this regard since 2009 and he did not get any response so far.
