The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has handed over an apartment to the family of Davit Avaliani, a policeman, who died during the August 2008 Georgian-Russian war.
The flat is in the block of apartments built on the territory of a "military city" in the outskirts of Tbilisi. The flat is repaired. Avaliani has a wife and two children. The family also received various presents from Isani-Samgori Gamgeoba (district administration).
Lieutenant Avaliani exploded on a mine in Tskhinvali, capital of Georgia's invaded territory of South Ossetia during the war. A total of 11 officers of MIA died in the war. Their families will all be handed over flats.
