One of the leaders of the National Council, the union of several opposition parties, has met with the foreign diplomats in Georgia and political experts to introduce their four basic demands before the local-government elections.
Kakha Kukava said the opposition demanded election of the district election commission members by the parity principle from political parties; equipment of polling stations with video cameras; control of expenditures of the municipal funds by municipal officials and investigation of all facts of oppression upon the opposition activists.
The National Council also reported the irregularities and the facts of oppression upon the members of the opposition parties. They also complained about the ignorance of the CEC to their reports about violations.
The National Council calls upon the international society to respond to such irregularities and violations.
