The officers of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Qvemo Svaneti Regional Main Division together with Kvemo Svaneti Regional division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have detained the members of an organized criminal group : Amiran Melkadze (DoB 1990) Goga Chirgadze (DoB 1994) Beqa Gabedava (DoB 1993) Ioseb Ugulava (DoB 1990) Tariel Jishkariani (DoB 1992) Varlam Topuria (DoB 1992) Gocha Ugulava (DoB 1971) and Merab Chkhenkeli (DoB 1990).
Throughout 2010, members of the criminal group have committed crimes envisaged by the articles 177, 260 and 236 of Criminal Code of Georgia. The mentioned group has robbed several apartments and shops in the region of Imereti. Detainees have already pleaded guilty. Police have already seized items stolen by the mentioned group of criminals. Among stolen items police have detected: a shotgun, magazines of a machine-gun, cartridges and P-1 type hand grenade.
Investigative-operative unit of police is currently conducting operative measures envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia in order to expose other criminal cases committed by the criminals.
Investigation is conducted by the employees of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Qvemo Svaneti Regional Main Division and Kvemo Svaneti Regional division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
