/UKRINFORM/. Ukraine and the United States have reached agreement that U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will visit Kyiv this summer, Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryshchenko has said in an interview with the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia (Mirror Weekly) newspaper, UKRINFORM reported.
He said that U.S. President Barack Obama had given a number of very important political signals at a meeting with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych during a nuclear security summit in Washington on April 12.
"We have an arrangement of a visit by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Ukraine. No exact date has been set, but this will be the first half of the year, to be more precise, summer," Hryshchenko said.
He emphasized the importance of Obama's statement about the readiness of the United States to contribute to financial stability in Ukraine. "Very important was the statement about the United States' support to the policy of reforms and financial stabilization in our country. They will advise the IMF to meet us halfway in the salvation of problems with financial stabilization," the minister said.
Hryshchenko also pointed to a fruitful nature of the U.S. and Ukrainian presidents' dialogue.
