Chief Prosecutor of Georgia, Archil Kbilashvili held a special briefing today to report the details of the cases of detention senior law enforcers, one of which is the former deputy minister of interior, who was the deputy mayor of Tbilisi recently.
Archil Kbilashvili spoke about the kidnapping and blackmailing in the case of Beso Surmava, who was the body-guard of Georgia`s current prime minister, Bidzina Ivanishvili. According to investigation, Surmava was kidnapped by the law enforcers threatened to publish the videos of his private life and forced him claim that he was making audio records of Ivanishvili`s team members, which was afterwards uploaded on YouTube with the ID Besarion Surmava, though investigation has found out that the videos were recorded and uploaded by CSD officers. In addition, former senior law enforcers have broken into the computers of Nino Burjanadze and Irakli Okruashvili by using computer virus, through which the audio records were made. Kbilashvili also said that Surmava was held in Adjara Region for several days.
Kbilashvili also reported the details of the case of Giorgi Kavlashvili, who was the chief of first main division of the Constitutional Security Department of the MIA. According to the testimony of the detainee, under his order the customs officers were warned to control any imported object belonged to Bidzina Ivanishvili or his company Kartu Group. Under the same order, CSD officers damaged the expensive TV equipment before customs clearance, so that it would be useless afterwards.
