Russian Federal Security Chief Aleksandr Bortnikov has accused Georgia of escalating tension in Chechnya and encouraging terrorism in the north Caucasus.
Bornikov alleges that the Georgian intelligence is assisting Al Qaida to deploy its terrorists to Chechnya. Bortnikov says the Russian Federal Security Service has obtained audio conversations, which prove the involvement of Georgian intelligence in the terror activities in Caucasus.
In addition, Bortnikov asserts Georgia assists Al Qaida to deliver weapons and money to the protected stores in Dagestan.
Bortnikov has also reported the statistics of the RFS work. He says since July the Federal Security has eradicated 19 terror attacks in North Caucasus and arrested 178 militants
