International Civil Aviation Organization has reiterated that no individual code has been granted to the Sokhumi Airport, Abkhazia, Georgia. The ICAO authorities have confirmed the support to Georgia`s territorial integrity and air borders at the meeting with the Georgian ambassador to U.S. Batu Kutelia.
Batu Kutelia met with the Secretary General of the ICAO Raymond Benjamin and the president of the ICAO Council Roberto Kobeh González. The ambassador reported the situation in Georgia`s breakaway Abkhazia and the flights made by Russian companies toward the occupied region.
The sides also discussed the action plan for evading violations of the flight no rms. Batu Kutelia called upon the members of the ICAO to abstain from flying to Abkhazia, Georgia.
