Border police have arrested twenty-six foreign citizens, who were trying to travel to Georgia illegally. Sixteen of the detainees are the citizens of Bangladesh. Via Georgia, the migrants had planned to travel to Turkey.
Eight Georgian nationals and one citizen of Turkey have been also arrested. They were assisting the Bangladeshi citizens to travel to Turkey illegally.
The detainees were first taken to the border police department, though they have not been charged so far. Border police has already assessed the fact as illegal.
