A complaint filed at the office of the chief prosecutor`s office by the former chairperson of the National Regulatory Commission of Communications, Dimitri Kitoshvili, has become a reason of a new scandal. Kitoshvili, who was arrested and charged blackmail and extortion, accuses former justice minister Zurab Adeishvili of pressure. In his interview with Rustavi2, Kitoshvili says that he was forced to give testimony against Irakli Okruashvili and himself regarding the scandalous case of the sell off of shares in the Geocell cellular communications company under pressure from that time authorities, who threatened to affect his family.
Kitoshvili has already filed a complaint at the prosecutor`s office and demands his interrogation.
In his testimony given five years ago, Dimitri Kitoshvili said that with his support and interference, Irakli Okruashvili demanded 2,5,% of shares of the Geocell company from one of the shareholders Jemal Svanidze for 250,000 dollar. Kitoshvili says these shares were then purchased by an absolutely unknown businessman, Guram Gogua.
