Georgian president has attended the annual reception at the prestigious Atlantic Council in Washington,D.C where he was invited as the co-chairperson of the event.
The prominent world leaders were attending the reception, where Bill Clinton was awarded for his international leadership that led to the Dayton Accords, peace negotiations in Northern Ireland and other achievements. Other honorees include Deutsche Bank chief executive Josef Ackermann, U.S. Marine Corps Gen. James Mattis and French Air Force Gen. Stephane Abrial and the U2 lead singer Bono.
Bill Clinton delivered a speech after receiving the prize and said that during his presidency he tried to assist Russia to overcome the failures in international politics less painfully.
