On May 13, during one of the large-scaled terrorist attacks, the Georgian military servicemen of the 42nd Battalion showed their commendable bravery and professionalism.
27 military servicemen were injured as a result of the attack and 10 of them have already started to fulfill their duties today. Health conditions of all of them are satisfactory.
Minister of Defence of Georgia Irakli Alasania held a special briefing: "Unfortunately, the best military servicemen of the Georgian Armed Forces are the victims of this unexpected attack. Their heroism and precious memory will be always valued. Corporal Alexandre Kvitsinadze, Sergeant Zviad Davitadze and Corporal Vladimer Shanava are nominated for "Vakhtang Gorgasali I Rank Order" for their bravery.
Security measures are on high alert on the military base attacked by the insurgents yesterday. Georgian Troops are fully controlling the operational situation in their area of responsibility.
