Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has arrested twelve persons in suspicion of being connected to a criminal network abroad. Special anti-crime operations were conducted by special task units in Samegrelo, Imereti Regions and in Tbilisi simultaneously.
One of the detainees is a minor and another is female.
The investigation has found out that the detainees recognize the influence and authority of the criminal network and for getting personal advantage and benefit, they followed the rules of the mafia, at the same time working intensively to introduce and reinforce these rules in the society.
According to the MIA, the defendants were following the instructions of the so-called crime bosses abroad. The detainees may face from five to eight year sentences if recognized guilty.
