The 65th anniversary of victory over fascism in World War II is marked in Georgia.
May 9 is the day of the capitulation of Nazi Germany to the Soviet Union in the Second World War 65 years have passed since the war finished.
Georgian veterans of the war have assembled in Vake Park in Tbilisi, where they traditionally celebrate the day. They have decorated the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with flowers. Civil rites have also been held to commemorate the people killed in the Second World War.
Solemn events are planned in Tbilisi on this day. Chairperson of parliament and Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava congratulated veterans on the day of Victory in Vake Park.
Politicians have arrived at Vake Park to congratulate the veterans of May 9.
