General Inspection of the Interior Ministry of Georgia has arrested the assistance detective of the Didube Chugureti Division of the police, chief lieutenant Ivane Menteshashvili. The policeman is suspected of extorting money from a robbery suspect, proposing him not to register the crime. The detective extorted 100 GEL from the suspect.
The detective has admitted to the crime. General Inspection of the Interior Ministry investigates the crime. The detective may face 11-15 years in prison.
