Gideon Zelinsky, President of PIONIERUL and Yiannis Vontas, Executive Director of VARIETY CRUISES met with Natia Mikeladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. The Romanian delegation was accompanied by Ilia Giorgadze, Ambassador of Georgia to Romania.
The sides discussed the opportunities of ferry service opening between Batumi and Poti ports and the port of Constanța of Romania and the related organizational issues. They also discussed the proposals from the Romanian companies regarding the ferry service line opening and possible investments.
According to Natia Mikeladze, if the negotiations have positive results, the company will be ready to open Constanța -Poti/Batumi Ferry service for the ships sailing under the Georgian flag. The deputy Minister stressed the importance of ferry service development for Georgia and noted that Georgian side is ready for co-operation in this term.
Within the framework of the visit, the guests visited Batumi and Poti ports and held meeting with the port authorities.
