The chairperson of the parliamentary commission investigating the death of the late President Zviad Gamsakhurdia has returned from Europe where he held meetings with European experts introducing the documents, on which the commission works.
Konstantine Gamsakhurdia told journalists in the Tbilisi airport that several injuries on the corpse of the first president, which was depicted in the exhumation report of the president`s body, triggered serious doubts for European criminalist experts.
`I mean the injuries, which Zviad Gamsakhurdia had on his face, on fractures of his ribs and pelvis. The expertise has also found injuries on the skull. These factors gives us serious grounds to doubt that these injuries were not accidental,` Konstantine Gamsakhurdia announced and added that the conclusion of the exhumation of the corpse published on February 1994 and in 2007 should be revised.
