Under the organization of MIA Emergency Situations Management
Department and “Eptisa” International Organization, seminar on
"Catastrophes Risk Reduction" was held at “Shetaron Metechi Palace”
hotel by PPRD East program within the frames of Eastern Europe Partnership.
Aim of the project was to share European
experience and boost the level of Emergency services in compliance with
European standards. By the end of the seminar Director of MIA Emergency
Management Department Zviad Katsashvili handed over relevant certificates to
the participants, reports GHN according MIA information.
Seminar was held by the experts from
European Union and other leading international organizations. Event was
attended by the representatives of Emergency Management Department of the
Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Ministry for the Environment and
Natural Recourses Protection, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development,
Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure as well as Azerbaujani and
Ukrainian Emergency service representatives.
