Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed
Forces Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze assessed the importance of the visit of
the NATO Military Committee to Georgia: "It is a very important visit not
only for the Georgian Armed Forces but for the whole country. At the meeting we
will discuss the issues related to regional security and those challenges and
objectives set towards our NATO integration, also, how Georgia is performing
undertaken commitments. The progress is evident and this visit is another proof
to this. Decision about Georgia's accession to NATO has to be made by the
politicians and we should be committed to do our job well, serve our country
and increase Georgia's combat capabilities. We are also going to discuss
transit route via Georgia. We consider that this is very good topic for Georgia
as a separate country, also for NATO and partner countries. We offer them the
corridor that is secure, effective and economical.” reports GHN.
