According to Ministry Of Defence
information, wounded military servicemen returned to homeland from the USA yesterday,
15 February. Six military injured in August War 2008 and NATO-led ISAF mission
have already underwent prosthesis program in Peter Harsch Prosthetics
Clinic, San Diego, California, USA.
Deputy Defence Minister Varlam
Avaliani, family members and friends met military at Tbilisi international
airport early this morning. They congratulated the military on returning to
homeland and wished them success in their future work.
The soldiers with amputated limbs were
provided with bio-micro prosthesis, which is reported to allow easy movement on
difficult terrain with the help of advanced electric limbs. The new prosthesis
resisting the extreme conditions enable the military to pursue more active
life.

Avaliani said that the project was being carried out under the support of the
Government of Georgia and particularly, by Prime Minister.
“It’s very essential, as our state
does its best to care those who sacrificed their health to their homeland. It’s
more important that those military will continue serving in the Georgian Armed
Forces and sharing their experience to colleagues” – he stated.
The second part of wounded soldiers
will travel to the USA for rehabilitation in the nearest future.
