Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili
will head the government’s Georgian football development commission.
Decision to set up the governmental
commission on football development was made earlier this month on a government
session, reported InterPressNews.
The commission will work on future
football development and will focus on implementation of important project in
this field.
The main goals of the commission are:
to work out a five-year plan for
football development;
Attract investors to increase funding football clubs;
Planning the events to assist football development;
Promoting mass football development;
Planning events for football amateurs and people with disabilities;
Coordination of work to prepare for UEFA super cup and assistance and
coordination of the UEFA European under-19 championship final to be held in
Georgia.
Government’s Georgian football
development commission members include states high officials, as well as Heads
of Georgian Football Federation and other well known former sportsmen:
The Minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze,
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Minister
of Finance Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Levan Kipiani and
Deputy Minister Akaki Lodia, President of Football Federation Domenti
Sitchinava, Secretary General of Football federation Revaz Arveladze, member of
the executive commission of the Football Federation, the chief coach of
Georgian under-21 team Aleksandre Chivadze, honorary Vice-President of Football
Federation Murtaz Khurtsilava, representatives of football clubs: Roman Pipia,
Tariel Khechikashvili, Ilia Kokaia.
Other representatives of other
organizations may be invited to join in the commission’s work.
