In frames of his visit to US, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli
Gharibashvili met US Vice President. The meeting was also joined by the
US-President Barack Oabama.
The main topics of the meeting were strategic partnership,
Georgia's European and Euro Atlantic perspective, also the reforms implemented
by Georgian government.

Prime Minister drew the
attention to the process of mounting wire obstacles along Tskhinvali and
Abkhazia occupation line and thanked the USA for its clear-cut position on
this.
As Irakli Garibashvili explained, the government highly appreciates that the US
condemns the erection of such barriers by the Russian occupation army and hopes
that support in this direction will be continued in the future.
The Prime Minister of Georgia also mentioned relations with NATO and EU and
noted that the integration process of Georgia with NATO is as dynamic as ever.
As the Prime Minister stated during the meeting with Joe Biden, till the autumn
of 2014 Georgia will sign the agreement on association with EU, and the
government will welcome the US willingness to support Georgia in implementing
the undertaken commitment.
Irakli Garibashvili requested the US Vice President to continue supporting the
improvement of US-Georgia relations, as this is vitally important for Georgia,
considering upcoming elections, signing the agreement on association with EU
and NATO Summit.
As the Prime Minister of Georgia explained, negotiations regarding high-level
trade and investment relationships between the US and Georgia are of great
importance for the government and that he is waiting for specific steps in the
direction of signing the agreement on free trade between the US and Georgia.
The Prime Minister of Georgia invited the US Vice President to Georgia and
noted that Joseph Biden's visit will be the demonstration of support to Georgia
once more; also it will emphasize the importance of retaining stability in the
region.
During the meeting Irakli Garibashvili also emphasized that democratic
development of Georgia, European and Euro Atlantic choice will not be reviewed.
According to the Prime Minister's estimate, the US remains a strong strategic
partner for Georgia and the government will do everything to move the strategic
partnership with the US to new level as deepening of the bilateral dialogue is
one of the most important priorities of foreign policy of Georgian government.
