On 24 February, Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of Georgia has published a statement in effect of ongoing events in
Ukraine and expressed its solidarity to Ukrainian people with hope of normalizing
situation in their country.

"The Georgian Foreign
Ministry welcomes the steps which have been taken towards normalizing the
complex processes currently taking place in Ukraine. The Ministry hopes that
the country's political crisis will be resolved, that all effective reforms
will be carried out in line with the Ukrainian people's legitimate democratic
and European aspirations, and that the country will assume its dignified
position in the bigger European family - all based upon full respect for its
sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as for the rule of law, through
the firm will and efforts of the Ukrainian people, and with the active support
of the international community.
The Georgian Foreign
Ministry also wishes to express solidarity with the Ukrainian people, conveying
its condolences to the families of those who were killed or injured, and
reaffirms its readiness to continue to successfully co-operate with Ukraine as
a traditionally friendly country in both bilateral as well as multilateral
formats - including within the framework of the EU Eastern Partnership
Initiative."
