General Paul Selva, Commander of U.S. Transportation Command, visits Georgia July 9 - 11 to hold a series of meetings with senior Georgian government and military officials, including President Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Gharibashvili, and Minister of Defense Alasania. In meetings July 10, he will discuss ongoing military cooperation and training between Georgia and the United States and Georgia's significant contributions to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission in Afghanistan, including logistical contributions to ISAF's Northern Distribution Network supply route. General Paul Selva will use this opportunity to thank the government and the people of Georgia for their support and explore future possibilities to expand the cooperation between the two counties. General Selva took command of U.S. Transportation Command May 5, 2014 and this is his first visit to Georgia.
