The second round of local self-governance elections will be held on July 12 in Georgia. The population, for already the second time, will have to vote for mayors in 8 cities and governors - in 13 municipalities.
The second round of election of Mayors will be elected in Tbilisi, Rustavi, Mtskheta, Gori, Telavi, Ozurgeti, Batumi and Poti.
Davit Narmania from Georgian Dream coalition and Nika Melia from United National Movement (UNM) Party will contend for post of Mayor in Tbilisi.
Contenders of Georgian Dream and UNM will compete for post of Mayor in Rustavi, Batumi and Telavi. Candidates of Georgian Dream and "Irakli Okruashvili - Georgian Party" will run in the second tour for post of Mayor in Gori.
Candidates of Georgian Dream and "Davit Tarkhan-Mouravi - Georgian Patriots' Alliance" will compete in Ozurgeti and Poti.
Governors will be elected in 13 municipalities: Akhmeta, Kvareli, Gori, Tianeti, Martvili, Kobuleti, Baghdati, Khoni, Tkibuli, Lanchkhuti, Terjola, Telavi and Khulo.
One part of international observers already arrived in Georgia to monitor the elections. The elections will be observed by 59 local and 32 international organizations. The media center will work in emergency regime.
