The 18th of August is the birthday of the Georgian national hero Giorgi Antsukhelidze. 30th anniversary of the military servicemen who served in the 41st Battalion of the IV Infantry Brigade was marked at the NCO Training Center today. Chaplain Giorgi held a special church service at King Tamar Church that is functioning on the territory of the NCO Center. Memorial plaque of Giorgi Antsukhelidze was also unveiled at the ceremony to commemorate the Georgian national hero. Military servicemen granted the Georgian flag to the family members of the fallen military servant. Leadership of the Defence Ministry and General Staff, comrades-in-arms and family members of Giorgi Antsukhelidze attended the event. After the ceremony, Comrades-in-arms of the Georgian national hero went to Mukhatgverdi Cemetery to lay wreath at the memorial of the fallen sergeant. Giorgi Antsukhelidze fell during the Russia-Georgia War in 2008. He was awarded with the Vakhtang Gorgasali I Rank Order, medal "Devoted to Homeland" and was posthumously awarded with the Order of National Hero.
