Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili unveiled the notice board at one of the streets of Batumi, which has been named after the late president and first lady of Poland, Lech Kaczyinski and Maria Kaczinska. The decision to rename the street after the Smolensk tragedy victims was taken by the Batumi Sakrebulo.
The Kachinski Street lies along the Batumi Boulevard.
President recollected the support demonstrated by the people of Poland and its late president during the hardest days of Georgia`s modern history and said the Street of Lech and Maria Kachinsky would be one of the most beautiful points in Europe.
Brother of Maria Kaczynska, Kornad Mizkevich attended the presentation today.
Within the visit to Batumi, Georgian president also attended the beginning of the trade centre construction in Batumi.
