Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili made a special statement regarding to the natural disaster in Dariali Gorge. As a government head said, last night landslip took place as a result of the intensive rain and torrent and unfortunately, there are 2 people disappeared working on cleaning of the tunnel, reports GHN based on information of Government of Georgia.
"Fortunately, the alarm system installed during previous disaster had worked, enabling timely evacuation of the people. According to my assignement, the government members visited the place of disaster last night. There are 4 ministers Chikaidze, Khorkishvili,Shavliashvili and Khaduri there. The special staff has been established and the disaster liquidation activities have been started. 24 hour activities are implemented and the scale of the loss will be defined soon," Prime Minister said.
As IrakliGharibashvili said, unfortunately, he is not able to visit the disaster zone, as he has to pay an official visit to Armenia, but he will keep a regular contact with the crisis management staff and will get full information about current activities in the Gorge.
