Belarusian edition "Belapan" published information that Abkhazia asks to Belarus and Kazakhstan recognition of independency, but the attempt of Sukhumi is fated.
The edition writes that acting president, speaker of Parliament Valeri Bganbga send letters of the presidents of Kazakhstan and Belarus Aleksandre Lukashenko and Nursultan Nazarbaev to recognize independency of Abkhazia. With the information of the edition the letter marks that Abkhazia is fully formed state. It is recognized by the Federation of Russia and also by several countries that are members of UN, reports GHN.
"We pay close attention to the dynamics of integration of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan and we hope that leaders of these countries will positively estimate striving of the Republic of Abkhazia to be involved in integration processes and that time will come when out republic will participate in developing of Eurasian union," there is written in article.
Valeri Bganbga also underlines contacts of Soviet Abkhazia-Belarus and Abkhazia-Kazakhstan and writes that historical traditions of relations of Abkhazian, Belarusian and Kazakh people creates good background for recognition.
It must be mentioned that Abkhazia (also South Ossetia) applied Belarus in the end of 2008 for recognition; the members of the Parliament of Belarus visited Tbilisi, Sukhumi and Tskhinvali, researched situation and reported about results to the President. Finally the President Aleksandre Lukashenko stated: "If we recognize you it will irritate Georgia.. also those countries that have territorial problems and the West will support them. And who wants this/ we can become the catalyst of the undesirable tendency."
Aleksandre Gronski, Belarusian historian and political expert comments on the latter of Valeri Bganbga: "I think that Belarus will not recognize independency of Abkhazia. Georgia protects Belarus in front of European Union. If we will take into account economic moments Abkhazia has no connection with Belarus. Belarus sells tractors in Georgia, may be even there was built the factory of tractors too, plus wine, "Borjomi", there are Georgian lemonades in Belarusian supermarkets.. so the recognition of Abkhazia in economic point of view will be unprofitable. I think that this issue will not be solved and it will find place on "shelter". We have to remember one more thing that in the end of 2008 out commission was created to discuss this subject, members of parliament researched situation, by the report was not published, the issue was forgotten. It can be active again, but only incase if there will be economic promises from Russia. We have to take into account also the fact that Belarus is expecting presidential elections. And do we want to irritate European Union right now?
