The Georgian Foreign Minister, Ms Maia Panjikidze paid a working visit to the Republic of Austria to take part in the annually held European Forum Alpbach. Present at the forum were the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy for the European Union, Ms Catherine Ashton, the Austrian Federal President, Mr Heinz Fischer, the Austrian Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, Mr Sebastian Kurz and the OSCE Secretary General, Mr Lamberto Zannier.
On the 24th of August the Georgian Foreign Minister addressed the plenary session of the international forum titled: "The European Union and Its Neighbours: Opportunities and Challenges before the Eastern Partnership". In her address, Maia Panjikidze focused on the challenges faced by the region of Eastern Partnership and specifically by Georgia, as well as on possible ways of their solution. Further, the Georgian Foreign Minister took part in the discussions and answered the questions of the attending audience.
As part of the visit in Alpbach, Maia Panjikidze attended the supper held on behalf of the Austrian Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, Mr Sebastian Kurz and the dinner organized by the Prime Minister of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Mr Adrian Hasler.
