"So called "presidential elections" in Abkhazia is one more attempt to legitimate existed occupation," said in the statement of the President of Georgia.
GHN offers the statement of Giorgi Margvelashvili without changes:
"So called "presidential elections" on occupied territory of Georgia in August 24, 2014 is one more attempt to legitimate existed occupation and is rude disregard of international law.
Today the territorial integrity of Georgia is violated, the armed forces of foreign country are illegally on the occupied territories and human rights are violated. As a result of ethnic cleaning big part of the population are internally displaced.
Russian Federation still doesn't perform obligations of 2008 August 12 agreement of cease-fire and other international acts. Observation mission of international organizations and European Union doesn't have possibility to enter occupied territories.
In this situation it is absolutely outrageous any kind of attempt that aims to make legalization of this reality with the way of creating illusion so called "elections" and any kind of elements of democratic governance.
I thank to international community that condemns so called "elections" on occupied territories and strongly supports sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia."
