The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Urmas Paet said in the statement posted on official web-site of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that so called elections held August 24 in occupied Abkhazia is illegitimate and is against territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, reports GHN.
The Minister also stated that recognition of "elections" would be legitimacy of military occupation that is unacceptable.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also stated that t is important to continue Geneva international negotiations and also observation mission of European Union should have possibility to act on whole territory of Georgia and Abkhazia region too for the stability and security of the region.
He urged Russia to fulfill fully obligations on cease-fire of 2008, between them the obligation to return armed forced on the position before conflict.
In the statement Urmas Paet underlined that recognition of independency of South Ossetia and Abkhazia unilaterally is against norms of international law, accordingly so called elections doesn't have legal and constitutional basis.
