"NATO formally can receive Ukraine and Georgia in spite of territorial problems, but these countries will not get the invitation for membership in alliance on NATO Wales Summit," stated yesterday while talking with radio station "Echo Moskvi" the director of NATO Informational Bureau in Moscow, report GHN.
As the representative of North Atlantic Alliance stated "one of the Baltic countries didn't had solved border- territorial issues with the neighbor while joining NATO- there was not signed proper final agreement with Russia and it could be a problem.. but now the NATO member countries look at this problems fully and everyone recognize that this problem was not fault of that Baltic country . It was (always) ready to sign agreement and it was really signed several months ago," stated Robert Pszczel, tough he have not mentioned that country.
As it is known Estonia became member of NATO in 2004 March 29, and the agreement about Estonia-Russia state borders, also agreements about separation of the marine in Narva Bay and Bay of Finland was signed in 2014 February 18.
"If one country is guilty that has (border-territorial) problems with neighbors in this case NATO is not interested to receive this country as a member," said Robert Pszczel.
Also he underlined that Ukraine in different from Georgian has not represented will about joining North Atlantic Alliance.
"On NATO Wales Summit, that is planned on September 4-5, there will be held meeting of commissions of "NATO-Ukraine" and "NATO-Georgia". It is not expected making decision about receiving Georgia and Ukraine in NATO on Wales Summit," underlined Robert Pszczel and added that the members of Alliance already expressed their position about this issue.
