Today the film director Nana Janelidze gave three copies of her film "Iavnana" (Lullaby) to the National Archive of the MInsitry of Justice of Georgia, reports GHN.
The film is made in 1994. Screenwriters: Nana Janelidze, Nino Natroshvili; director of photography: Giorgi Beridze; composers: Jansug Kakhidze, Vakhtang Kakhidze. The film is made on the motifs of narration of Giogri Gogebashvili.
"The film was made in 90s, that's why film is damaged. I decided to give my film to National Archive and I want to thank them because they immediately changed boxes, cleaned it and I am sure that the film will be protected. I apply everyone who still keeps films at home to give it to the National Archive. The films will be protected and will be available for every researcher and people who loves cinematography," said Nana Djanelidze.
"There is small amount of films in National Archive. Out collection consists documentary and TV films, accordingly such kind of acquisition is very important for us. Mrs. Nana Janelidze gave unique film. We will record it due to archive rule and after this we will digitize it. It means that the film will be available for everyone. Besides we intensively collaborate with the Center of Cinematography and plan to obtain different interesting and important films to keep them in our archive," said director of National Archive Teona Iashvili.
It must be said that in National Archive there is kept nearly 35000 film documents. Though the main part of the collection are documentary films, movie plots, movie chronicles and movie journals; there are small amount feature films in archives, totally 76 films. Between them are: "Arsena" (1923); "Three Lives" (1924), "Who is Guilty" (1925) and others. Also there are films created in featured film studio: "Mother's Hand" (1959), "Tsabunia" (1969) and others.
Nana Janelidze "Lullaby" is important acquisition for National Archive film collection. In future the film will be digital and will be available for every interested person.
