On behalf of the ruling party, Secretary General of the National Movement has thanked the voters for support. Zurab Melikishvili emphasized the high voter turnout at the local government elections, which were held on May 30 and said this support laid great responsibly on the ruling party.
Melikishvili thanked all political; parties for participation in the elections, observers for providing democratic conduct of the vote and called upon the voters for cooperation. He said the cooperation with other parties was important, because there was still much to do.
According to the recent report by the CEC, the ruling party leads in the elections. The mayor`s candidate from the ruling party has obtained majority of votes in these elections.
