In the frame of working visit in Republic of France the Minister of Defense of Georgia Irakli Alasania was hosted by its French colleague Jean-Yves Le Drain in the Ministry of Defense. The meeting also was attended by the chief of General Staff of Armed Forces of Georgia, General Major Vakhtang Kapanadze and deputy of the Minister of Defense Varlam Avaliani, reports GHN.
On the meeting there were discussed the subject of collaboration of Georgia and France in military sphere. The colleagues also touched the importance of NATO Wales Summit. Jean-Yves Le Drain once again expressed full support to Georgia on the way of integration in Euro-Atlantic structures. The Minister of defense of France thanked Georgian side for the participation in peacekeeping mission of Central Africa. There were talking about the issues of regional security.
"France supports full integration of Georgia in Euro-Atlantic structures, into NATO. We support us to have such kind of armament that will adequate for the challenges that exist in region in terms of security. The Minister of Defense thanked us for participation in mission in Central Africa under aegis of European Union. Our bilateral relations will strengthen, deepen and will be comprehensive," -stated the Minister of Defense of Georgia after the end of the meeting.
About importance of the meeting with the Minister of Defense of France talked General Major Vakhtang Kapanadze: "It was very important meeting. There were discussed the security issues in the world. We were thanked for participation in joint operation in Africa. This is very important that our military collaboration is set to be on extremely high level."
The working visit of the Minster of Defense of Georgian in France will end tomorrow.
