Georgia will be represented on Frankfurt book fair as a guest of honor in 2018, - it was stated at the meeting between the prime minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and director of Frankfurt book fair Juergen Boss, reports GHN based on Prime Minister's Press service.
The head of the government explained to Juergen Boss that this is not only cultural but also political project that is important for Georgia; therefore, he will head the process organization himself.
As it became known during the meeting, in order for Georgia to be represented respectfully on Frankfurt book fair in 2018, it is planned to translate over 300 Georgian books. The mentioned process will be coordinated by the national book centre which was established under the ministry of culture.
At the meeting the traditions, literature and ancient creations of culture of centuries and the uniqueness of the Georgian written language were emphasized.
"We have discussed that in 2018 Georgia will be the guest of honor at Frankfurt Book Fair. We have talked about the preparation process what to do during the next three years. We discussed translations and Cultural Traditions of Georgia as well", - Juergen Boss stated.
The director of Frankfurt Book Fair thanked the head of the government of Georgia and expressed his hope that the cooperation will be successful.
