The President of Georgia held his first meeting with Secretary General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen. Anders Fogh Rasmussen first of all congratulated Giorgi Mrgvelashvili happy birthday and wished success, reports GHN.
The meeting of NATO Secretary General and President of Georgia was held before official opening of NATO Summit. The sides talked about importance of the Summit. They underlined that on the background of Ukraine crisis Summit has more importance for the necessity of strengthening security in region. The President of Georgia thanked NATO Secretary General for the strong support of Georgia on the way of integration in North Atlantic Alliance and stated that the fact that Alliance appreciates progress of the country is very important for Georgia. While meeting there was expressed hope that the Summit will give Georgia impulse to join NATO. The sides paid attention to the package that will receive Georgia on this Summit. As Secretary General said it will be very important impulse for country to prepare for integration into NATO and to conduct the process better. Giorgi Margvelashvili expressed hope that the final result of the Summit will increase security and safety of Georgia.
