The Georgian Prosecutor's Office has detained Elizbar Lominadze, director general of the state enterprise `Energy 21` in suspicion of bribery. Temur Zurmukhtashvili, director of the modern history archive of the Georgian central archive, has been also arrested with the same charges.
The investigation has revealed that the Energy21, which is 100% state possession, has been in the bankruptcy regime under the court ruling since July 10 2008.
State budget allocated 373,000 GEL for arranging the archive of the company. Elizbar Lominadze signed a contract with various entrepreneurs in 2008-2009 years and took 180,000 GEL in total. The mediator in these machinations was Zurmukhtashvili.
The abovementioned persons were detained on 9 June. They will arguably face from 4 to 6 years in prison.
