"I condemn the provocation that happened in Kobuleti yesterday," stated the Prime Minister of Georgia. As Irakli Garibashvili stated this is an attempt of religious intolerance and religious controversy and the state will not allow it to happen, reports GHN.
"Assault of religious feeling is unacceptable for everyone, between them for orthodox Christians too. Religious confrontation is strange for our people. Georgia always was known with its tolerance, in our country lived peacefully people with different religions and they always used to respect each other.
This provocation works for those people who wants to create destabilization of Georgia and who wants to stir up religious controversy in our society. I call on law enforcement agencies to immediately investigate the incident and to bring them to justice who participated in a provocation. I want everyone to know that government of Georgia will not allow religious controversy and destabilization. I want assure Muslim population of Georgia that we will take all measures to defend their interests. All offenders will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," states Irakli Garibashvili.
