The head of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy confirmed that the EU will unleash a new round of sanctions against Russia over Ukraine on September 12. The economic sanctions will reportedly target Russia's energy sector, reports GHN based on RT.
The new limitations will be published in the official journal of the European Union.
Three of Russia's major energy companies and the country's three largest defense entities will be restricted from raising long-term debt on European capital markets, Van Rompuy said.
