The officers of Constitutional Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of wide scale operative activities, detained the members of organized criminal group operating within the system of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources: nine employees of the Inspection of Environmental Protection and two employees of Forestry Department.
The detainees are employees of Adjara Bureau of the Inspection of Environmental Protection: Giorgi Rukhadze, Ramaz Nemsadze, Gela Chkhaidze, Rostom Sharvashidze, Gocha Davitadze Davit Goradze. The employees of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Bureau of the Inspection of Environmental Protection: Gogi Bjalava and Giorgi Khunjgurua. Zaza Dvalishvili, Chief Specialist of Central West Bureau of the Inspection of Environmental Protection. Mamuka Tchkadua, the ranger of Kolkheti forestry zone of Forestry Department and Gocha Jabushanuri, the ranger of Pasanauri forestry zone of Mtskheta-Mtianety Forestry Division. On the fact of bribery the entrepreneur Davit Kutubidze is also detained.
The mentioned employees misused their authorities and were involved in corruption dealings with entrepreneurs, thus extorted different amounts of cash for assisting in illegal production, realization and usage of natural resources.
The committed crime envisages the term f imprisonment up to 11 years. Investigation is being conducted by the officers of Constitutional Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
