The Georgian Prime Minister, Mr Irakli Garibashvili paid an official visit to the Republic of Georgia between the 11th and 12th of September 2014. The Prime Minister's delegation included also the Foreign Minister, Ms Maia Panjikidze, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the visit, Mr Garibashvili has held meetings with the President of Azerbaijan, Mr Ilham Aliyev and with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Mr Artur Rasizadeh, where the prospects of development of strategic co-operation between Georgia and Azerbaijan were discussed. Special emphasis was put on interaction of the two countries in terms of implementing energetic and transport projects and enhancing trade and economic relations.
The participants of the meetings underlined the high level of co-operation existing between the two countries and expressed their readiness to exert every effort to strengthen multidimensional mutual co-operation.
During the visit, the Georgian Prime Minister visited the Heydar Aliyev Center and the Pantheon of Public Figures "Fahri Hyaban"; laid a wreath at the graves of Heydar Aliyev and Zarifa Aliyeva and at the "Sehilder Hyaban" memorial. The Georgian delegation took a sightseeing tour of Baku.
