Within the framework of the World Economic Forum, Giorgi Kvirikashvili met with Klaus Shvab, World Economic Forum Founder and Executive Chairman, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Economics and Sustainable Development.
The issues regarding the current economic processes and the reforms being implemented by the Georgian government in the direction of business promotion and investment protection were discussed at the meeting. The sides also discussed the issues regarding the recent ranking of the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) that is defined by the World Economic Forum. According to the Index, Georgia takes 69th position amongst 144 countries; the previous ranking of Georgia was 72-3. As mentioned at the meeting, the positive result will promote Georgia to be represented in so called "positive" category for the next ranking as soon as possible.
The World Bank, International Monetary Fund and other very important organizations take part in the development of the World Economic Forum ranking. Georgia's ranking has been improved this year especially in the field governance quality, as well as in terms of providing public health services.
