Within the framework of the Ninth International Riga Conference, State Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Alex Petriashvili conducted a meeting with Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy and NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, James Appathurai, reports GHN based on the Ministry of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
The sides deliberated on the result of the Wales summit. James Appathurai underscored, that Georgia did its best to achieve maximum results at the summit. At the same time, he emphasized that the package offered to Georgia at the summit is substantial to the maximum extent and the Alliance is starting the implementation of the decisions made. In particular, according to the Special Representative of the Secretary General, concrete results will be visible in respect of opening Defence Capability Mission in Georgia by the Foreign Affairs Ministerial scheduled for December and the alliance will not spare efforts for it.
The sides discussed the need for timely implementation of the assistance foreseen in the package. James Appathurai confirmed that the alliance is ready to share experience and assist Georgia in affective implementation of the issues under the package.
Within the framework of the working visit to Latvia and the State Minister will also participate in the conference, organized by Latvian Transatlantic Organization, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence of Latvia.
