"My dream and main aim is to develop local industry, our country has the resources for and it is very important the role of our talented qualified students," stated the Prime Minister of Georgia while meeting with the students of Technical University, reports GHN.
The Prime Minister visited exhibition of innovative technologies in Technical University; he held meeting with students and professor-educators. He informed young people about novelties of educational system and listened to their opinions.
With the statement of Prime Minister the government pays special attention to the development of technical spheres.
"Development of new technologies, and scientific innovations, especially in applied sciences is great opportunity to accelerate the development of the national economy. Technical University has very good resource to make contribution in this endeavor, " stated the Prime Minister.
He also expressed his appreciation for the assistance provided by the Government of America in the field of education and called it an unprecedented support.
"Georgia received from Millennium Challenge Corporation" 140 million lari investment and it will be spent on development of human resources. It is noteworthy that Technical University is one from three high schools where during 20 years there will be implemented international and American bachelor's Degree Program and students in technological and natural specialties will be able to receive international diplomas," stated the Prime Minister.
The head of the government applied to the students to be involved in competitions and projects announced by the International Center of Education. He also talked about importance of development of scientific sphere and marked that the government is working intensively scientific activity in Georgia to be perspective and appreciated.
The Prime Minister informed the students of the University that one of the important projects of Technical University is financed and there will begin rehabilitation of the building and also the laboratory will be provided with equipment.
"Very pleasant novelty also is that this year agricultural direction was added to the list of free specialties. The state fully finances studying process on this faculty because the development of agricultural sector is the main priority for us and I believe that Technical University will give qualified specialists in this field," stated the Prime Minister.
At the meeting there became known that students in technological and natural sciences will receive international diplomas.
