We will be glad to host his Holiness da Pope Francis in Georgia, - the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili addressed with these words to the Secretary for Relations with States of Vatican Archbishop Dominique Mamberti who he met in the Government administration today, reports GHN based on Press Service of Prime Minister.
One of the main topics of the meeting was strengthening bilateral relations between Georgia and Vatican.
Irakli Garibashvili thanked Dominique Mamberti for support to Georgian territorial integrity and non recognition policy of occupied regions.
At the meeting Georgian traditions of many years and historic tolerance of Georgian nation was emphasized.
"Georgia has a special place in the Christian world. Georgian church is one of the ancient among Christian churches," - Archbishop stated during the meeting with the Prime Minister.
Parties also discussed the prospectsof strengthening cooperation in education and culture sectors.
