The chairperson of Georgian Sakrebulo may have deputies from the opposition according to the amendments to the Law on the Capital, which will be proposed for discussed to Sakrebulo soon.
The Sakrebulo chairperson has one deputy according to the current legislation; therefore, the amended law will allow the Sakrebulo to elect more than one deputy from opposition. Christian Democrats say the amendment is acceptable for them; they believe that their member, Jaba Samushia is one of the most feasible candidates for the chairperson deputy from opposition.
The Sakrebulo also plans to form permanent commissions, part of which will be chaired by the opposition.
The members of the majority say the amendments to the Law on Capital aims an involvement of the opposition in the work of the municipal government.
