A working meeting between the Georgian representatives at the Geneva International Discussions and the co-chairs of the Discussions was held on the 15th of September of 2014, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Georgian delegation was led by the First Deputy Foreign Minister, Head of the Georgian delegation at the Geneva International Discussions. Mr Davit Zalkaliani.
The two delegations focused on the issues on the agenda of the 29th round scheduled to take place between the 7th and 8th of October. The Georgian delegation has once again expressed its concern over the thwart of the 28th round and has underlined that the destructive activities aimed against the format and agenda of the Geneva International Discussions agreed on the basis of consensus are totally unacceptable. The delegations outlined possible steps that may be taken to avoid recurrence of similar developments in the future and to ensure that further rounds are held in their due format.
At the same time, the Georgian delegation underlined that the working groups should function without obstructions and that it is necessary to focus on such key issues as non-use of force, international security mechanisms and return of refugees and internally displaced persons.
