"Senate will support to ratify Association Agreement in maximally short period to help it enter into force timely," stated the Minister of European and Euro Atlantic Integration Alex Petriashvili after the meeting with Parliamentarian friendship group of France-Caucasus, reports GHN.
With the delegation with the participation of Senator Phillip Dahlie and executive secretary of France-Caucasus parliamentarian group Veronica Boke under leadership of chairman of France-Caucasus Parliamentarian friendship group Alan Gurnak were discussed the issues of deepening of political, economic and cultural bilateral relations between Georgia and France. The sides also talked about integration of Georgia in European Union and its perspectives. There was underlined the importance of assignment of Association Agreement and its implementation. Alex Patriashvili talked about expectations of Easter Partnership Summit if Riga. He talked about giving to Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova European perspective and about introduction of visa-free travel for citizens of Georgia and importance of decision-making by EU about this case.
In the meeting also there was discussed the security issues in the region. The French side condemned Russian aggression and underlined the significance of making adequate decision by NATO and European Union. On the meeting also there was underlined that Georgia reached important result of Wales Summit and that the achievement of Georgia should be adequately perceived to reach the membership of NATO.
The French side expressed its readiness to help expedite the process of ratification of the Association Agreement and also Georgia to reach desired results of Riga summit.
